
MABRA's Mission Statement
The purposes for which the Corporation is formed are as follows:
To promote the sport of bicycle racing in the Mid-Atlantic region, principally within the states of Delaware and Maryland, the northern portion of the state of Virginia, the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, and the District of Columbia;
To foster camaraderie and fellowship among culturally, racially and gender diverse bicycle racers and enthusiasts within the Mid-Atlantic;
To help ensure bicycle racers and enthusiasts in the Mid-Atlantic have an equal opportunity to participate in bicycle racing and activity without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin;
To support and facilitate the efforts of its members, clubs, and other organizations that promote diverse, inclusive and equitable bicycle racing/activity/engagement in the Mid-Atlantic;
To support the efforts of its members in promoting bicycle racing and events for local, regional, national and international competition; and
To undertake such actions as are necessary, proper, desirable, advisable, or convenient for the furtherance and accomplishment of the foregoing purposes, provided that such actions do not exceed the bounds accepted for a District of Columbia nonprofit corporation.
Notwithstanding any other purpose or provision in these Articles, the Corporation is to be organized and operated at all times exclusively for exempt purposes within the meaning of 9501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
